Library Rules & Regulations
All students, faculty, and staff are requested to follow the library rules and regulations to maintain a conducive environment for study and research.
General Rules
- Library membership is compulsory for all students and staff.
- Identity card must be carried at all times and shown on demand.
- Silence must be maintained inside the library at all times.
- Mobile phones must be switched off or kept on silent mode inside the library.
- Personal belongings such as bags and food items are not allowed inside the library.
- Marking, underlining, or defacing library books is strictly prohibited.
- Books must be handled with care and returned in good condition.
Borrowing Rules
- Students are allowed to borrow up to 2 books at a time.
- Faculty members are allowed to borrow up to 5 books at a time.
- Books must be returned within 14 days from the date of issue.
- Books can be renewed once if not reserved by another member.
- Reference books, journals, and periodicals are for in-library use only.
Fine & Penalty
- A fine of ₹1 per day per book will be charged for overdue books.
- Loss of a library book must be reported immediately. The member will be required to replace the book or pay the cost.
- Damage to library property will attract a penalty as decided by the librarian.
- Membership may be suspended for repeated violations of library rules.
Library Timings
- Monday – Saturday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- The library remains closed on public holidays.
