Transforming youth for the future: Skills for Employability

An expert talk on “Transforming Youth for the Future: Skills for Employability” by Mr. Sarang Wankhede was organized on 15/07/2024 by Department of AIDS Engineering under Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Students Association (ADSA) in association with IQAC for all students of Late G. N. Sapkal College of Engineering to celebrate the Youth Skill Day. Mr. Sarang Wankhede is the Managing Director of Sujay Finserv Consultants Pvt Ltd. He has extensive 11 years of experience in business feasibility analysis. He is an authority in agricultural and industrial subsidies such as the Package Scheme of Incentives (PSI) 2019, Nabard Subsidy, NHB Subsidy, APEDA and PMFME CIF Subsidy. Additionally, he serves as a TEV Consultant for various nationalized banks. As an importance of youth skill day, he said World Youth Skills Day encourages governments, educational institutions, employers, and organizations should invest in training, education, and initiatives thatenhance the skills of young people. This investment will lead to better integration of youth into the workforce, fostering personal development and economic empowerment. Communication skill is the most important skill he said. Students need to deliberately acquire the Verbal, Non-verbal and Written communication skills as well as active listening capability so as to pay full attention and respond appropriately. He also emphasized on skills of Collaboration and Teamwork which leads to higher job satisfaction. Problem- Solving and Critical Thinking is the most crucial skill to give effective solutions to the problems, if acquired, highly needed in all types of job profile. Various government schemes data like Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP),Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (MAHA-CMEGP), Micro UnitsDevelopment & Refinance Agency Ltd (MUDRA), Stand Up India for SC-ST and Women Entrepreneurs financing aids, Credit Guarantee fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises CGTMSE), Seed Capital Scheme and PSI 2019 for finances and different waivers is shared with the students.

Hands-on Generative AI Workshop

Kalyani Charitable Trust’s LATE. G. N. SAPKAL COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department organized “Hands-on Generative AI Workshop” Conducted by Mr. Trivikrama. The session began with a brief introduction of guest, welcoming all students and emphasizing the currently importance of AI. A presentation highlighted and Mr. Trivikrama Discussed how Artificial Intelligence impacts career opportunities and personal growth. The session covered and Students learned Many points such as Explore the Generative AI Landscape, Understand Opportunities and Investments, Discover Applications and Demonstrations, Dive into Architecture and Building Blocks, Gain High-Level Understanding of AI, Develop, Test, and Deploy your Model, Build your AI Avatar from scratch. He also discussed AI current trends, job market demands and opportunities in AI. He taught students how to build Generative AI Model within 2 hours and the students even made their own Models.

Celebration of World Wide Web Day

A competition on “Blog Writing” was organized on 01/08/2024 by Department of AIDS Engineering under Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Students Association (ADSA) in association with IQAC for all students of Late G. N. Sapkal College of Engineering on the occasion of “World Wide Web” Day. The competition was conducted in online mode in which students’ blogs were invited to the e-mail id aidsdepartment2024@gmail.com from 01/08/24 to 03/08/24. Total 13 entries were received. The judgment was done on 21/08/24 by Prof. Dr. Sunetra Jain, Assistant Professor, K. R. Sapkal College of Management Studies, Nashik. She is esteemed faculty at K. R. Sapkal College of Management Studies and has extensive 17 plus years of experience in teaching field from various institutes of Nashik. Judgement was based on certain criterion like Originality, Writing Style, Ideas and concepts, Creativity, Descriptive language. One winner and two runner ups were decided.

Latex : Hands-on Workshop

One day “LaTeX: Hands-on Workshop” by Prof. Shweta Wankhede was organized on 21/08/2024 by Department of AIDS Engineering under Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Students Association (ADSA) in association with IQAC for the students of SE (AI & DS). Prof. Shweta Wankhede is currently working as Asst. Professor in E & TC department of K. K. Wagh IEER. She has extensive 8 years of experience in teaching field from various institutes of Nashik. LaTeX is a software system for typesetting documents LaTeX offers extremely good control over the formatting of documents . LaTeX is widely used in academia for the communication and publication of scientific documents and technical note-taking in many fields, owing partially to its support for complex mathematical notation. It also has a prominent role in the preparation and publication of books and articles that contain complex multilingual materials, such as Arabic and Greek. All the aspects of LaTex including its importance are covered with hands-on training and live demonstration. Few frequently used commands were demonstrated during the workshop. In summary, the workshop aimed to empower students with a powerful tool for report writing and different presentations. Outcome of the workshop is Students will be able to develop a well-organized report and presentation by using LaTex. Students will be use LaTex easily for their presentations in future.

Teachers Day Celebration and Inauguration of Student Association

Teachers' Day at college is a vibrant celebration of appreciation and respect for educators. On 05/09/2024 , Thursday department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organised an event for Teachers Day along with the formal inauguration of the students association Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Students Association, ADSA. Students organized events, including speeches and performances, to honor their teachers' contributions.The atmosphere was filled with gratitude and euphoria, as for the first time the students association was formed and a committee was announced. The badges were distributed to all committee members.Also winners of various competitions conducted by the department like name and logo competition, Blog making competition and unit test topper , maximum attendance students were felicitated. Students were guided by our Principal Dr. S. B. Bagal and HoD Prof. S. R. Baji. In the end ADSA President Mr. Vedant Gaikwad gave vote of thanks.
